The green and gold kangaroo of Australian Made Campaign is synonymous with Australia. For more than 40 years, it has championed local manufacturing, achieving a 99% recognition rate and earning the trust of four out of five Australians. It’s more than a logo — it’s a national icon.
Yet while the symbol remained instantly recognisable, what it stood for had begun to fade. Younger generations had grown disconnected from the deeper meaning behind buying Australian Made. In a world where everything is only a click away, the reasons for supporting local makers and manufacturers had become less visible.
That’s where Big Ears Audio stepped in.
We designed the sonic identity and recorded the voiceover for the campaign, with one clear objective: to remind Australia that when you buy certified Australian Made products, you’re backing Australians.
The platform ‘Made Right Here’ was born — a simple but powerful reminder that choosing products made on our shores supports local jobs, strengthens the economy, and protects the Australian way of life.
Creatively, the campaign made a bold move. For the first time ever, the kangaroo was released from the triangle, allowing the iconic mark to take viewers on a journey across Australia’s makers and manufacturers. The energy was lifted across every touchpoint — from the driving music to the electrified visual treatment of the kangaroo itself.
The result is a campaign made for today — dynamic, confident and forward-looking — while still honouring its forty-year legacy.
