Sound Design
In audio post production sound design plays a valuable and exciting part in all projects. It’s the element that brings your project to life. The sound designer is responsible for all of the sounds the audience hears. Sound design is the overarching sonic structure of the production, including music, sound effects, foley, background audio, and mixing. Sound design is the process of developing, or producing audio elements used it in a variety of areas including radio, films, television production, theatre and in video games.
The process usually involves manipulating previously composed or recorded audio, i.e. creating the music and the sound effects. In some instances, sound design involves the composition of recording audio to create a certain tone or effect.
Our experienced sound designers know what it takes to bring a project to life. Enhancing or altering sounds is a key part of this process. Our sound designer can do this through the use of many tools. Whether it’s the use of synthesizers, sound effects, samples, foley or audio plug-ins
At Big Ears Audio our experienced sound designers have a high level of creativity and imagination and will do what ever it requires to bring your project to life.

Music Editing
Music editing in post production involves editing or overseeing the synchronization of all musical elements with the movement on the screen. This also means measuring timings to assist the music composer in locating points in the film where the music will highlight the scenes. Our engineers work very closely with directors and creatives to realise their vision and story.
Big Ears Audio are experienced in working in both film and television. Long or short form. Music editing is part of the post process, whether its a piece of original music or something that’s s been already created our engineers are experienced in editing and syncing tracks to your vision.
Sound Effects Editing
We can hear sound effects in every video medium. Whether it’s a barking dog, a car door slamming shut, or a space battle, these are all sound effects. This even includes background sounds that may not always be apparent as you are taking in a film, but play a critical role in creating the film’s atmosphere and tone. Big Ears Audio has a large sound effects library.
With years of experience in sound effects editing, our engineers have the knowledge to find, edit and place the required effect. Also many of these effects are created with Foley…
Foley Effects
Named after the father of sound effects, Jack Foley, these everyday sounds make the motion in the picture come to life. The light scrapes of footsteps in the distance, the persistent drip of a leaky faucet, the crack of a well-landed punch, and creepy creaking floorboards are all examples of Foley effects.
ADR
ADR stands for automated dialogue replacement and is also known as looping, dubbing, and post-synch. This is when actors re-record their lines after filming. Its purpose is to improve their clarity, remove background noise or sounds from the environment, change tone or intonation so it better conveys the mood of the scene or character, or change the dialogue.
Voiceover Production
The recording studio has a dedicated and sonically accurate vocal booth. We look after every part of the voice over recording process. Casting the perfect voice , over many years Big Ears Audio has built strong relationships with actors and voice agencies making it easier for you to find the right voice.

Sound Mixing
In post production sound mixing unites and balances all of the sonic elements of a film. The sound mixer makes sure the dialogue/ADR/voiceover, sound effects, and music fit together to create a soundscape that complements the film and immerses the audience in the experience.
The sound mix is the final part of the recording process. Our engineers have years of experience in the art of mixing. Whether your project is a TVC, short or feature film or even a music track that needs that special treatment to give it that professional sound.
The recording studio has a dedicated mix room. We also offer remote mixing, simply send us the files and a brief and one of in-house engineers will look after the rest.
